The Moon and Tides
By: Jayden H. and Dalton N.
There are four different types of tides: high, low, spring, and neap. High tides are when the ocean water rises . Low tides are the opposite of high tides. Spring tides are when they occur near the times of the new and full moon. Neap tides are tides that show the least range between high and low. Each tide takes about 6 hours so there are four tides each day.
There are many diferent phases of the moon. For example, the full moon, first quarter, third quarter, and new moon. The moon causes the tides. There are predictable patterns among the moon and tides because there are a lot of different moon phases. If there was no moon there would be no tides in the world.
