Principal's Message
We are deeply saddened and troubled by the recent school shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan, and we join those across the country in sending our condolences to the families and friends of those lives lost in this senseless tragedy.
We take great pride in our work to keep all at Portsmouth High School safe, particularly by promoting a school culture that is respectful and welcoming to all. We continue to partner with public safety officials to develop comprehensive emergency response plans, and our students and staff have undergone training to be prepared for difficult situations. However, we know that prevention is the most important strategy, and we continue to ask all students, parents, and staff to pay attention to warning signs, particularly any indications of potential threats against the school community. Please report any suspicious comments or behavior to our school administrators, or our school safety officer, Maddie Pirri. We must all work together to ensure that our school remains a safe environment for teaching and learning. Thank you.

Lend a Hand to those in Need
Hello Prevention Friends,
The members of our NCPC Brown House team have been working on a plan to help out some of our fellow humans. We have put together a list of some pretty basic, but crucial items that will make a big difference for some of our un-homed community members in Newport this winter. Would you like to help support this effort? A list of items and some different ways to help can be found by following this link- https://newportcountyprevention.org/winterdrive/
We plan to pick a day( later in December) and location where these items will be available for the un-homed population to select what they need. We hope to have a few other surprises as well!
As always, thank you all for your support of NCPC and our community.

Quarantined Students
Students who need to quarantine will be provided with asynchronous distance learning. All teachers are prepared to have daily assignments and accompanying materials available for students on a regular basis.
It is important that your child check in with Google Classroom and access the necessary lessons. This will make for an easy transition when your child is matriculating back at school. If you have a hardship, please contact your child's school counselor.
