Monday Minutes
Communicating for Nye County
April 29th, 2013
Good Morning. Earth Day has come and gone. I want to personally thank Sheena
Barnes, Raven Barnes (RCMS student), Iliana Garcia and Deb Norton for assisting me
in cleaning up the SDO/Pathways/Technology/NV Pre‐K grounds this past Saturday in
conjunction with the town clean up. Thanks to any other sites who may have
participated in the town clean up event as well.
Administrative Assistants’ Day has come and gone. I would like to personally thank
all staff that administratively assists anyone in the district and a job well done as
always. You folks are at the front line for customer service with the public, as well as
with the rest of the staff of the district.
Last week I attended the Nye County Invitational Track Meet held at PVHS. It was
great to see the talent represented throughout our county in the Track and Field
sport. I encouraged PVHS to hold the meet on a Saturday next year and to add
Middle School teams to the event so ALL talent can be represented in one place at
one time.
Tuesday is a Board of Trustees’ regular scheduled meeting in Tonopah video
conferenced to the Southern District Office at 5:30 p.m. Please feel free to attend.
I will be in Reno at the end of the week attending a Teachers and Leaders Council
meeting.
This brings to a close this week’s edition. I've attached some Legislative reports for
your reading pleasure.
Happy May Day this Wednesday and have a great week!
