NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...

All students in second grade are scheduled to participate in GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) testing the first week of February. The only second graders who will not take the test are those whose parents sent us the opt out forms. If you have questions about the specific times the students are testing, please contact your child’s teachers.

Some students in grades 3 - 5 will take the GATE tests as well. These are students who have been recommended by their parents. Students scheduled to take the GATE test in grade 3 will take the test on 2/6 and students scheduled to take the test in grades 4 and 5 will test on 2/7. Testing for grades 3 - 5 will start at 8:30 AM.

If your child is participating in the GATE test, thank you for ensuring your child gets a good night’s sleep prior to testing, eats breakfast and brings a snack to school.

If you have questions about the upcoming GATE testing, please contact your child’s teacher or the office.

Getting to School On Time

We appreciate your efforts to have students arrive on time to school. Our bell rings in the morning and the gates close at 8:13 AM so students have time to walk to their classroom and begin the day at 8:15 AM.

If your student arrives after the bell a parent/guardian will need to sign them in at the office and they will get a tardy slip.

Remember it's the Law!

Per California law any one under the age of 17 riding a bike, scooter, skateboard or skates must wear a helmet. Thank you for helping keep our students safe to and from school!

TK/Kinder Registration

TK/Kindergarten Online Registration opens February 1st.

There are upcoming events this Spring and the profits help toward the cost of the 5th Grade Fort Bragg Trip. We are looking for a team of parents to head these events, such as the Father Daughter Dance and Mother Son Dance. What is Futsal?

Futsal originated in Uruguay and was quickly adopted throughout South America. It is now played all over the world and is growing rapidly in the United States.

Why is it so great?

Futsal is the ultimate game for helping players to develop skillful and creative tactics, foot skills, and ball control. Futsal is a fast-paced and exciting game that creates players that think quickly on the field and perform well under the pressure of a fast moving game. With on the field teams no larger than 5 vs 5, players are constantly involved in the action and touching the ball on a basketball style court, which has less space than a normal soccer field, encouraging control, finesse and high energy!

Program 1 - Soccer

All Tuesdays - Jan 29, Feb 5, 12, 19 - 2:50 to 3:50pm

Program 2 - Futsal

All Tuesdays - Mar 19, 26, Apr 2, 9 - 2:50 to 3:50pm

Open to grades 1 through 4.
