Cannon Elementary News!
Cannon Employee of the Month: Dianna Barber
Our employee of the month for March is one of a kind! Mrs. Barber has touched many lives in almost every school in Quinlan. She has taught generations of Quinlan ISD students. Mrs. Barber is responsible for the performances during every open house at Cannon Elementary School. All four this year have received rave reviews from parents regarding how well the students have performed. Thank you for your dedication to our students, Dianna Barber. You are truly one of a kind!
Cannon Student of the Month: Destiny Agey
Destiny deserves to be the Student of the Month for many reasons. This sweet little girl is a great helper during morning ACE. She is also a natural leader during our afternoon ACE program. She helps the younger children play games and see over the table. She is an active participant in the Jr. Master Gardening Club and Karate class.
Destiny Agy, thank you for being so kind hearted and willing to help others.

Butler ACE is not slowing down!
- Crops planted by the Butler Gardening Club are beginning to emerge this week. The students have planted potatoes, brussels sprouts and more than 200 onion transplants in the raised beds outside. The students also learned to grow seed indoors, under a grow light. They are currently growing peppers and tomatoes with this method. More crops will be planted every week throughout the semester.
- Mr. Barrett began auditions for Seussical, which is slated for a late April showing.
- The acrylic painting class consists of fourth graders this six weeks. Students will paint a colorful giraffe on canvas and will take them home when the project is complete. Acrylic painting will be featured during open house on March 9, 2017 @ 5:30 pm on the Butler campus.
