Student Spotlight
Student: Ava Salvia
Nominated by Safety: Kaia Olson
Ava is a great role model to all. She is always there to help with my kindergarteners. She is respectful in the halls, in line, and walks to the bus even though some of her peers choose otherwise! Great job, Ava. Keep it up!
Student: Ava Salvia
Nominated by Safety: Brielle Jenner
Ava is always trying to help the safeties. She is always following the rules at the bus stop and on the bus. Ava always is kind to others at the bus stop. She listens to the safeties and the bus driver on the bus and at the bus stop. From the beginning of the year Ava has always taken her sister and the other kindergarteners to their classrooms. I think of her as like a safety now. She takes charge of the kindergarteners and leads them to their classrooms. I am so lucky to have Ava on my bus.

ATTENTION READING OLYMPIC PARTICIPANTS AND FAMILIES
Groveland Update
Our students have been preparing for the annual Bucks County Reading Olympics. Read Olympic family members are welcome to join us on Wednesday April 19, 2023. This event is an enjoyable, rewarding experience for everyone who attends. To ensure a successful evening, we are asking for cooperation from Reading Olympics Families with the guidelines that are listed below:
- Our host school this year is Warwick Elementary School.
- This is a heavily attended event. Try to carpool so that traffic jams can be prevented. For parking, the main lot of the school will be open and we are also using the parking lot at St. Cyril's (the church across Meetinghouse Rd from the school).
- Registration begins at 5:30 pm, and participating students and families should go directly to their Round 1 assigned room at that time. The competition begins promptly at 6 pm. Allow time for parking and finding the assigned classroom.
- Keep in mind that small children will not have the attention span for this academic event and may be happier at home.
- Food and beverages (except bottled water) are not allowed at the Olympics. This rule applies to both participants and spectators.
- Parents are spectators, not participants. Please do not interfere with the questioning process or challenge the judges’ decisions.
- If you cannot attend, please make transportation arrangements for your child with another team member.
- All students should wear their team t-shirts on competition night.
This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate reading and the variety of worthwhile reading experiences students have had as a participant in the Reading Olympics.
Sincerely,
Colleen Daley
Groveland Elementary Reading Olympics Coordinator
Competition Date & Time: Wednesday, April 19, registration at 5:30 pm
Location: Warwick Elementary School

Technology & Innovation
Laptop Breakage
We have seen a rise in the amount of screen breaks for student laptops. Our policy covers for 2 broken screens per device. If your child’s laptop screen breaks 3 times, we will be required to send you an invoice for the repair and labor. The current cost for this is $200. Please remind your child to care for their laptops. Some simple steps to assist are:
- Use two hands when holding or moving the device.
- Use clean hands while using the laptop or iPad.
- Use only the provided digital pen or finger on the screen.
- Use only the power adapter that came with the device.
- Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen.
- Keep device stored in the provided case. This includes traveling through the hallways, on buses, or anytime the device is not being utilized.
- Make sure nothing is on the keyboard, close the lid, and remove all cables if any are plugged into the laptop. Place laptop in your bag carefully.
- Be careful when placing your case on the floor. Keep the device off the floor so screens do not get stepped on by others.
