Halloween Information

As we continue to navigate through Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines, it is necessary for us to make some difficult decisions. One of those decisions is in regards to Halloween costumes and celebrations.

We are saddened to announce that we will not allow Halloween costumes in schools this year for students or staff. We will also be unable to hold a Halloween parade as we have in the past at the elementary school. With social distancing measures and limits on gatherings, this decision was made in the best interest of keeping our students and staff healthy.

We do invite all of our students and staff to dress in fall colors on Friday, October 30 to celebrate the season. Colors such as brown, yellow, orange, and black are all welcome. We are also working to coordinate some other activities throughout the last week of October and will share more as we get closer.

Thanks for your continued cooperation and patience as we work toward keeping everyone safe.

Welcome to our New Staff!

Ms. Jean

Ms. Jean is teaching science at the high school. She loves the Oakland Raiders and her favorite hobby is playing video games. Her favorite food is seafood. Ms. Jean said, "I’d want the ability to read minds, but under the condition, I could permanently forget anything I didn’t want to know." She likes like fall because it is a time without snow and seasonal allergies. A favorite quote is, "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence.”

Welcome to the district Ms. Jean!

Ms. Wisner

You may recognize Ms. Wisner from the middle school last year, but this year she is a building sub at the elementary school. She loves elephants (going to the zoo) and cats, listening to music, and going to hockey games. Her favorite kind of food is Mexican, Italian, or Polish. She has been a vegetarian for 20 years. When asked what superpower she would like, she responded, "I would want the superpower of teleportation. I do not enjoy driving and I believe it would save a lot of time in the day." She also said, "favorite season is Summer; however I love all of the Fall activities around here."

A couple of her favorite quotes are, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”-John Lennon, and “A person’s a person, no matter how small.”

Ms. Pedulla

The elementary school welcomes Ms. Pedulla as a psychologist. She enjoys Cooking/Spending time with family & friends/Football & Baseball. Her favorite food is pizza. If she could have any superpower it would be the ability to teleport. Summer is her favorite season. A favorite quote of Ms. Pedulla's is Just because you are struggling does not mean you are failing.

Mrs. Wolanski

Ms. Wolanski is teaching Regents Earth Science and Regents Living environment at the high school. She said, "I love to spend time with my family. We enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and taking family walks or bike rides. The beauty that fall brings with the crisp air and beautiful array of colors is one of my favorites, not to mention the apple cider and fresh donuts!"

Flu season can begin as early as September and last as late as May. Your best bet is to get a flu shot early in the season so your body has a chance to build up immunity to the virus. It takes about two weeks for the flu shot to protect you. Did you know that COVID-19 and Flu share a lot of similarities. See the chart below
