Car Rider Line

Thank you so much to all of our parents and siblings that are dropping off and picking up their student from MMS. A few friendly reminders:

  • Please pay attention to the staff member directing traffic. The season is changing and it is still dark during morning arrival, please drive slow and be aware of the person standing in the line directing traffic.
  • Only allow students out of the car when you are in the inner lane.
  • In the morning and afternoon please drive all the way up the next available space before allowing your student to load or unload.
  • In the afternoon please remind students that they are to wait on the yellow line and not underneath the awning, unless it is raining. Students will be given another reminder about waiting at the yellow line. Starting next week, if students do not follow this expectation they will be assigned silent lunch.

We appreciate you adhering to these reminders, your cooperation helps us to have a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal.

Friendly reminder from Nurse Turpin...

Just a reminder for parents to keep their students home when they are not feeling well or when they are sick. Not just for covid but mono and strep throat are going around as well. And as we approach flu season, it's especially important to keep students home who are not feeling well. Should you keep your student home due to sickness or illness, please email the school nurse Elisabeth Turpin (eturpin@mgsd.k12.nc.us) or call her at 704-658-2733.

MMS Progress Reports were emailed to parents today, please be sure to review this information with your student.

Service Road Closure

On Monday, Sept. 13, from 4pm - 7pm, the service road between the Middle School and Intermediate School will be closed so the surface can be repaved. Please make appropriate plans to avoid this repair work. If you have any questions or concerns with this schedule, please let me know. Thanks.

Virtual Mooresville Middle School

Next week, students will have an asynchronous day on Wednesday, September 15th. Students need to log into each of their classes and complete the work given to them by their teachers.

On Friday, September 17th VMMS materials can be picked up in the front office. We ask that someone picks up the materials for the students between 9 am and 1 pm.

Our students have been working very hard in VMMS. We do want to recognize two students who always show the Heart of a Red Imp and go above and beyond. Our students of the week for September 6 -10 are

7th Grade: Nikolas W.

8th Grade: Yaliz M.

MMS PTSO

The first MMS PTSO meeting was held virtually on September 8, 2021 at 8AM. Shout out to all our parents that were able to attend. Click the link below for the minutes from the meeting.

Please be on the lookout for a sign up genius. MMS PTSO is sponsoring a "Stock the Teacher's Lounge" event and will be asking for donations from parents. More information to come.

The next PTSO meeting is scheduled for October 6th at 8am, we will meet virtually.

Our teachers are offering 1-3 sessions of virtual tutoring each week to help your students stay on top of their work. If you have any questions, please feel to reach out to the school or your child’s teachers. Thanks!

Mooresville Public Library

Fall is upon us and there is plenty going on at the Mooresville Public Library. The teen department has re-opened its in-person volunteer program, Teens Give Back. We will continue to offer virtual volunteer hours as well. Further information for teens interested in volunteering for the library can be found on our teen page Here.
