Summary
I read a book about Babe Ruth or George Herman Ruth. To begin with Babe Ruth was a bad kid from a bad neighbor hood. For example he had been caught stealing, and his run-ins were becoming more frequent. On June 13, 1902 Babe's parents sent him to a Catholic reform school, called St. Mary's. At the school, one of the Xaverian (Xa-ve-ri-an) brothers, brother Matthias taught Babe how to play baseball. From then on he loved the game, he became very good at it too. He was drafted to a minor league team called the Baltimore Orioles. He was doing good with a batting average of .300. Later he was drafted to the Red Sox's and he was ver successful, he one a lot of pennants and was hitting very well. Then he was on the New York Yankees and made it in the hall of fame. Who new that a Baltimore slum could become the idol of every kid in America.
