Buckhorn High School currently has an opening for an Agriscience teacher. Due to the lack of properly endorsed applicants, we are searching for individuals who might be interested in working in the position on a part-time adjunct basis. Adjunct faculty are not required to possess a traditional teaching certificate. They must clear a background check and apply for an adjunct license.
If you know of any individuals who you feel might be interested in this possibility and have the background to be suitable to teach agriscience subject matter, please encourage them to contact Mr. Todd Markham at tmarkham@mcssk12.org

Applications for National Honor Society are open! The deadline is Wednesday, August 22, 2018. NHS is open to Juniors and Seniors only. The membership requirements are outlined in the application but the biggest determining factor is grades. Students must have a 90.00% core average. This DOES NOT mean they need all As. Just the CUMULATIVE AVERAGE of their grades for all their core classes must equal 90.00% or greater. Core classes are Math, Social Studies, English, Science and Foreign Language according to our bylaws. Click the blue link below to access the online application.

Don't want to take your final exam? Don't miss school! Students are now given the opportunity to exempt their final exam in each of their classes. However, their grades AND their attendance will be the deciding factor. Students should think ahead and plan for the end of the semester - don't miss days you don't have to.
- A student who earns exemption status has the option to take the comprehensive final examination to raise the final grade average for the course.
- The comprehensive final examination grade will count 20% of the student's final grade.
- Absences due to approved school activities will not count against course attendance.

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
