New! UCSD STEM Undergraduates Host Online Q&A Sessions
UCSD's bioengineering outreach team will be hosting a series of online Q&A sessions. They will offer mini-presentations and Q&A sessions covering hot topics related to"What it is like to be a college student?" to specifics on "Why am I an engineer?" as well as STEM subjects, applying to college, prehealth, school life, extracurricular activities, transferring from community college, college in general, and more. Space is limited so please click here to submit a student interest form to reserve your spot for this unique opportunity. Open to students and parents in all grade levels. Participants are encouraged to attend multiple sessions in order to get different perspectives on the college experience. The plan is to host zoom calls at different times during a 3 week period from 4/27 to 5/15. It is very important that students click here to fill out the College Q&A Interest Form as their meetings will be password protected and they will only send passwords to those who fill out the google form. New! PHS Online Trade Day Interest Survey
We plan to host online Trade Day sessions starting in May. Please take a moment to complete this short and sweet two question Trade Day Interest Survey. We would like to know the best time to host the career talk, and what careers are you interested in learning about? Our trade day sessions will be approximately one-hour Zoom calls where students can hear from industry professionals. Our goal is to host different industry professionals on the 3rd Thursday of each month to share their career paths and participate in a Q&A session. Thank you for your help in making this a possibility!

Wellness and Reducing Stress
- Focus on what you can do.
- Get a good night's sleep. It helps with immunity, mental clarity, and mood.
- Stay hydrated and eat nourishing food.
- Create daily routines! Make a plan for each day with a schedule of activities that is balanced with time for meals and breaks.
- Stretch between your classes to stay active!
- Get your day started by getting dressed for class.
- Take advantage of the good weather.
- Set up a designated study area away from your bed to stay on task and avoid taking naps.
- Stay organized! Write down all your quizzes and assignments for the week in a planner or calendar. This helps you feel in control and accomplished for getting things done.
- Be kind and patient. We can't control what is happening, but we can choose kindness

Collegeboard Live Streaming AP Lessons

UC/CSU Temporarily Adjusts Admission Requirements Due to Covid-19
- No letter grade requirement for A-G courses completed in Spring 2020
- No standardized test requirement for Fall 2021 freshman admission

Virtual College Search Opportunities
Many colleges are hosting a virtual open house, exploration days with panel-style presentations with two or more colleges presenting hot topics, and answering questions online. Just to name a few:
CSU San Marcos will be hosting a virtual open house on Friday, April 24, 2020. Students and their families are invited to attend. For more information and to sign up, please visit here. Students can schedule an appointment to speak with Admissions Counselors here.
National Virtual College Exploration Week is now 3 weeks of virtual presentations for Juniors to explore college opportunities. Monday, April 20 - Friday, May 8, 2020. 450 colleges in 47 states and 13 countries. Free for Students. Students can register and check out the schedule here. Sessions will be presented both in English and Spanish.
U of Oregon has live visits, one-on-one chat options, YouTube collections, and even a weekly coloring page. Seriously! You can check it out at https://virtual.uoregon.edu.

Seniors, Intent to Enroll Deadline Reminder
As a reminder, May is the deadline for students to make their enrollment deposit and housing reservation payment. Some colleges may have extended their deadline so please check your college website for details.
CSU San Marcos Intent to Enroll Deadline Extended. Seniors, if you are considering attending CSU San Marcos in the fall, please note: CSUSM’s Intent to Enroll deadline has been changed to June 1, 2020.

Seniors, at the end of your college process!
- Reduce your college list to 2 or 3 colleges.
- Create a list of your priorities without the name attached to it.
- Does the college have the extracurricular activities you're looking for?
- Does the college have a strong alumni network?
- Compare the financial aid offers. FinAid has a comparison calculator to help so you know what you're getting to.
- Does the college offer professional development opportunities like internships and job opportunities?
- Are you picky about your food choices? Yelp nearby restaurants
- Use resources like YouVisit, YOUuniversityTV, Campus Reel, and Campus Explorer to help finalize your decision
- Go to the Visit Us page on the school's website to help with this information.
Remember there isn't a perfect college. Find the perfect fit for you!
