Officially known as the Republic of Chad, Chad is a country located in north-central Africa.
Chad is bordered on the north by Libya, on the south by the Central African Republic, on the east by the Republic of Sudan, on the southwest by Cameroon, and on the west by Nigeria and Niger. The country is sometimes referred to as the "Dead Heart of Africa' because of its proximity with the deserts.
The country has an area of 495,753 square miles, with a land boundary length of 3,708 miles.

According to the census conducted in 2009, the estimated population of Chad is 10,329,208. The birth rate is estimated at 48.28 per 1,000 people and the death rate at 15.4 per 1,000 people. The population growth rate is about 2.92%.

Food in Chad has a lot of grain in it. The grain is called boule. It is orange and looks like cheese balls. They also drink red, black, and green tea. We, in America mostly drink green tea. It is a little sweet, but good for your body.

Chad speaks French, Arabic, and Chadian Arabic. Chad's sign language is like Nigerien sign language. Andrew Foster introduced American Sign Language (A.S.L) in the 1960s. And now Chad knows A.S.L.

They have important classical Chadian religion. Most African religions involve belief in supreme being who created the world and it`s inhabits. As a result, shrines to a high are uncommon.
