Message from Stonehedge Elementary School Principal
Dear Stonehedge Families,
Happy Friday. It looks like it is going to be great weekend. We hope you enjoy this beautiful weather and my fingers are crossed it is as nice next Friday for our Pumpkinhedge event. Huge thank you to our PTA for sponsoring our visit with Cynthia Lord. The students loved the assembly. They were an attentive audience and had great questions. Check out the pictures below!

PARP
We had a busy PARP week! Because of the Rabbit author Cynthia Lord came to visit Stonhedge. She held 3 engaging assemblies for our students.
Please encourage your students to read with their family, friends, even pets! When they do, they could be rewarded with great prizes! Students should record their reading by filling out the weekly PARP slip. Return week 3 slips on Monday, October 24th.
Don't forget, our next Open Library Night is Wednesday, October 26th from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Please enter through the Main Entrance.
Halloween
Halloween will be celebrated with costumes, a class party and parade at 9:30 AM. Students should arrive to school already in costume and be prepared to change into regular clothes for the day. Students may not wear masks or face make-up. Costumes must be appropriate for school and may not include any weapon of any kind. A letter with specifics parade routes and parking directions will be coming home next week.
Calling All Veterans
On Thursday, November 10th at 8:30am, along with their Stonehedge students, we would like to invite veterans and active servicemen and women to join us for coffee and doughnuts. A letter with more information is going home today with your child.
Positivity Project
Next week's P2 focus will be Creativity.
Cold Weather Outerwear
The cooler weather is upon us! Please keep in mind that our students will continue to go outside for recess. If the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above, recess can take place outside. If the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (this includes factoring in the WINDCHILL), recess will be indoors. Students should always have appropriate clothing for the weather: Coat, boots, snow pants, hat, and gloves.
Also, please remember to label your child's cold weather clothing. You will be so glad you did!

Wellness Wednesday
We were excited for our first monthly Wellness Wednesday! The theme this month was Drop Everything And Move! There were three times throughout the day where an announcement came on for everyone to stop everything for a movement break.
