Reading Workshop
Our Readers focused on Cause and Effect this week and the way different events in a story are related to each other. We practiced finding examples and using Key Words to help us understand which event happened first. Our stories this week were very interesting. Ask your child to tell you about the Kamishibai Man, Tall Tale Tuesday, or The Kabuki Kid.
Ready to write some Thinking Post Its!
Math
We had our Unit 4 Test this week. Students were asked to demonstrate their understanding of multiplication and division by applying their knowledge to a variety of situations. We went over the test together and students completed reflections, as they always do. Please let me know if you have any questions. They did a great job!!
Information Writers
We continued to work on our Information books this week. Students used checklists to take stock and set goals. Many of the students noticed how much their information writing has improved since we started our unit!
Students also learned the importance of Fact Checking for accuracy!
The Giving Tree
Mrs. O'Connor led our class in a great lesson about giving and receiving. Students discussed how important it is to acknowledge and appreciate the Giving Trees in their lives, and brainstormed ideas for how to show their appreciation. They ended the lesson with a little yoga! We all love our lessons with Mrs. O'Connor!
