MOTT’S GOALS

  • 100% of families get pledges from sponsors
  • The best part of this fundraiser is that most of the donations come from someone other than the parents!
  • 5 pledges per student
  • Profit used for our Owl Cart, Field Trips, and Clubs.

The easiest way to help us reach our goals is through our easy SHARE features on FUNRUN.COM. Make a Student Star Video to share with Facebook friends!

  • Copy and paste the email template and then send to family, friends, and local businesses.
  • Go to FUNRUN.COM from your mobile device, click share, and send texts to friends and family.

Safety Practices for Parking Lot

Parents, it is very important to make sure to walk your children all the way to the front door. The front parking lot is not a quick drop-off line. With so many cars coming and going it is easy to miss a child that is only 2 feet tall. Help us make sure all our kids are safe by parking your car and walking your child all the way through the crosswalk.

Is Your Child Interested in Trying Out?

PfISD holds a UIL Academic Meet each year. This year's event will be held on Saturday, February 1st. There are academic competition opportunities for students in grades 2 through 5 in English and in Spanish. An information letter about the events can be found here. UIL Academic Meet - English

Dual Language Academic Meet

We are also looking for parent volunteers to help coach our students. If your child is interested in participating, and/or you are interested in coaching, please contact the front office at 512-594-4700. You may also email our receptionist and she will forward your information to the correct contact. elizabeth.zamora@pfisd.net

October 18 and 21

Our first awards assembly is right around the corner. Times are listed below in the upcoming events section. In order to make this a smooth first assembly please remember to bring your driver's license or other form of identification for our new badging system. Allow yourself enough time to find parking and to have your ID verified. There is not enough parking in the front of the building to accommodate parking for awards assemblies. Therefore, we will have badge access at the back of the building for awards assemblies so that parents can park on the road between Mott and Cele Middle School.

Red Ribbon Week - Start Planning Your Child's Wardrobe!

Mon., Oct. 21: Wear Red because “We’re RED-Y to live a drug free life!”

Tues., Oct. 22: Wear mixed-up clothes because “Drugs are ridiculous!”

Thurs., Oct. 24: Wear pajamas because “Being healthy is our dream!”

Literary Character Day - October 31

Students may come to school dressed as their favorite literary character on this day. Please help us stick to the theme. We are highlighting children’s literature, not commercialization and not Halloween. We will have a parade of our literary characters that morning. To participate in the parade, students must be holding the book with the literary character on which their costume is based. Be creative! This is going to be so much fun!!

Tips for Picking Up Your Child Early for an Appointment

We truly appreciate your efforts in scheduling appointments after school hours. However, we understand that is not always possible. So, if you need to pick your child up early for an appointment, and your child will not return that day, it could take 10 to 15 minutes for your child to get to the office. Here is the reason why:

  1. Often, our teachers do not know ahead of time that your child will be leaving early. They have to gather homework, folders, etc. to put in the backpack. Your child has to pack these items, their water bottle, the book they are reading, etc. before they start walking to the office.
  2. Our school is 19,000 square feet. It takes a long time to walk from some parts of the building up to the office. Especially if your child is young and has short legs!
  3. If your child is in special areas, lunch, computer lab, recess, etc., they will have to go back to the classroom to get their backpack. There is no guarantee that the teacher will be in the room at that time due to meetings, copying, etc. Our classroom doors are always locked, for safety reasons. So, the office will have to put a call out on the radio to find someone with a key that can walk to the classroom to open the door, so that your child can get their backpack. This will take several minutes. You can avoid this added delay by knowing your child's schedule, and arrive before or after lunch, specials and recess. Schedule by Teacher
  4. Sometimes, teachers take their class for a whole group bathroom break. These breaks are not scheduled, and are based on class need due to that day's schedule. In this case, when the office calls the room and the teacher does not answer, we just have to wait a few minutes until the class returns to the room.

In other words, please allow plenty of time to pick up your child in order to make it to your appointment on time.
