Gas Vans

By Derek Brecht

Gas vans were introduced in 1941, with a purpose of mass killings. The gas vans were sealed vans that the Nazis used to kill Jews, Gypsies, and mentally ill people. The vans worked by using the exhaust from the engine to poison the people in the interior compartment and away from the driver. The use of gas vans began when the german task force (Einstatzgruppen) complained about battle fatigue. Gas vans also provided to be the least costly way to kill.

This video was helpful to me because the video shows how the the gas vans work.
