What is it?
Golden Rice is a type of rice genetically modified for vitamin A deficiencies. The main vitamin A precursor is beta-carotene, which is produced in the Endosperm.
How was it created?
Golden rice was created by transforming 2 biosynthesis beta carotene genes called phytoene synthase.
Society
In 2005, over 200 million people were affected because of vitamin A deficiencies. UNICEF had donated high vitamin A supplements in 1999 in order to combat vitamin A deficiencies. They have helped a lot of people throughout the years.
Risks?
There were no proven facts that rice can be bad to the human health.

My opinion
I personally think that this GMO would be a great success in the food industry and as well as for the community. The reason why i think this is good is because it costs less than most vitamin A enriched foods and it is cheaper than other resources to produce. Also since there are barely any risks associated with the product, what more can you ask for! I would like to say i approve this product and hope to benefit the poor societies and make them stay healthy.
