Important Information
MBS Memo for April 21, 2021
From the Office
We Need Signed Notes!
Please remember that for your childrens' safety, we cannot release them to anyone but you without a signed note.
Due to limited office staffing, we are unable to accept email or phone call changes to pick up during the school day, except for in extreme emergency. Also, we will not interrupt instruction to deliver information about last minute changes to students.
As stated in our Parent Handbook, please make sure to make arrangements for how your child will be coming home before the start of school, and please make sure your child brings in a signed note with the information into the office as they come into school in the morning. Doing this will ensure the safety of your child, as well as give them a sense of security in knowing with whom they are going at the end of school.
For those of you who are setting up a regular weekly schedule for pick up between familiy members, or with another parent, please bring in a one time standing signed note with the schedule. Please make sure the contact information of all individuals is on the note in the event there is a delay in pick up. For this situation, a signed note would be necessary only if there is a change of pick up from the schedule described in the note.
Make Sure Your Child Dresses in Layers! It Can be COLD up Here!
Parking Lot Drop Off and Pick Up
The bus will be arriving in the parking lot in the morning around 7:45. After that, parents are to line up single file to drop off your children.
In the afternoon--we will be releasing students to the bus at 11:55 so that the bus will be on its way.
Tomorrow we will have cones out to assure that cars are going through the parking lot single file. We had a couple of close calls between cars today! Proctors will be coming to your car and asking which child or children you are picking up--they will fetch them and bring them to you.
We saw one family that had their child's name on a piece of paper, taped to the front right hand side of the windshield on the inside--that really helped!
Officer Chen noticed that parents are taking advantage of the pull out below the flashing school sign to pull over until they see traffic moving--he thought that was a great idea.

Remote Learners
Thank you so much for your support and patience as we start our "new year." Teachers are having to instruct the in-person students on all the in's and out's of being on-campus, as well as learn to be providing instruction and support to your children as well.
There is a lot of procedural information that needs to be shared at the start of being on campus initially, but things should settle down next week. Your children are valued members of our school community, and we will continue our efforts in making sure they are receiving instruction similar to that in the classroom.
Welcome First Graders!

Need COVID-19 Tests?
These tests are free--they come with a prepaid package to send the tests in via FedEx. The only catch is that you need to test and send in the kit Monday through Thursday because the lab must get the test within 48 hours.
If you would like some tests please contact the office, and we will be glad to send some home with your child along with instructions.
