Leonardo Da Vinci
Leonardo was born April 15th 1452 and died May 2nd, 1519. Leonardo was born in a village called Anchiano near the town called Vinci. He was sent to Florence when he turned 15 to work as an apprentice. He later moved to MIlan to join the service. When he was sent to Florence, he worked for Andrea De Verrocchio. Later on, in france he was invited to work for the King of France. Leonardo knew a lot of different things, like how he was the first to explain why the sky is really blue. In 1508 he was the first man to propose contact lenses. Leonardo could draw with one hand and write with the other.
The Mona Lisa
This image shows how majestic her smile was. Most people believe she is smirking. The Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait and is the earliest Italian portrait to be so focused on the sitter. This painting is the most known, wrote about, sang about, and most visited piece of artwork in the entire world.
The Last Supper
The Last Supper is a huge painting. Its 460 x 880 cm, it can cover entire walls. This painting is one of the world's most famous paintings. It was created 1495-1498. Leonardo Da Vinci made this painting when he was working for Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, in the 18 years that he was.
Virgin Of The Rocks
This painting was created in the period of the Renaissance, 1483 through 1486. The size of the painting is 6 feet 6 inches tall and 4 feet wide. The paintings name was used for two, but both are identical except for several significant details.
