What is Kepler 22? Where is it located?

Kepler 22 is a star in the Kepler 22 system. A star is a sphere-shaped ball of heated or cooled gas and other substances that are found in our universe. There are 100 billion stars in just our Milky Way galaxy! Stars play a big role in the way we live today and stars also create all the basic matter in the universe.

The Kepler 22 star system is located in our Milky Way galaxy. This star system is near the Cygnus (swan) constellation, which is the 16th largest constellation in the night sky, and the Orion Spur. Other neighboring constellations include Cepheus, Draco, Lacerta, Lyra, Pegasus, and Vulpecula.

-Kepler 22b is an exrasolar planet that scientists are still researching and have suspicions that it may be Earth's twin. This planet takes 290 days to circle the planet star, Kepler 22.
