BCSC: March 16 - 20
At Home Learning
BCSC Families -
We appreciate your partnership as we work through these challenging times. Below you’ll find the link to BCSC At Home Learning resources.
***If you do not have reliable home computer access, please e-mail your school principal at your convenience Monday and Tuesday, or call your student's school today or tomorrow (March 16 or 17) between 8am and 3pm to arrange alternate delivery of the assignments. CLICK HERE for a list of school phone numbers or call the BCSC Administration office at 317-852-5726. Also, lessons are available in Spanish and other languages if needed. Please contact the BCSC Administration office for assistance.***
First, be assured that the At Home Learning lessons can be completed at your own pace. The lessons are sorted by day for continuity purposes, but they may be done at your convenience over the course of the closure. Elementary and middle school lessons are sorted by grade level, high school lessons are by course. The work does not require a textbook and will be turned in when we return to school. BEFORE YOU PRINT, READ THIS: Many of the pages are reading passages, directions for work, or answer sheets. In order to save paper and ink, we suggest having students read all materials on a computer, tablet, or phone. You’ll find more advice on the At Home Learning page. Teachers will be contacting families this week to check in and ensure that you have the materials and to offer any additional support. If you have questions, please email your child’s teacher. CLICK HERE to visit the BCSC staff directory, allowing time for teachers to respond to email messages.
The lessons posted will be counted in the 4th quarter. When students return from the closure, they will have 3 days to complete any outstanding work from the 3rd quarter. As we have shared previously, we cannot predict the length of the closure and will communicate if there is additional information to share. The earliest students could return to school is April 6th. At this time, we do not anticipate an extension of the school year. Please continue to utilize our staff directory and communicate with teachers and principals via e-mail when possible so questions can be answered and information shared in an efficient manner.
We are sure there are questions that have not been anticipated so we encourage you to reach out to your schools and BCSC with questions so we can make the best of this situation.
