* There will be a Zoom meeting for parents regarding the film "Don't Wait" (on substance abuse prevention) on Thursday, May 6th from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Please register at the link listed below in the Paw Print.

* There is No School on Monday, May 31st.

Special Note:

Due to not hosting large crowds, we will not have "May Day" this year. We have been told to stay the course to help mitigate the spread of Covid in our schools. The possibility of high temps with masks and close proximity of multiple classes together along with assemblies being canceled for this school year are the main reasons for the decision. We are looking forward to hosting more of our traditions next school year. Let's stay encouraged the trends will continue to decline.

With CT Pride,

Allison

MR. FOUSHEE'S ADVENTURE CLUB NEWS - April 25th, 2021

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

This week Adventure Club celebrated Earth Day! The kids tested their recycling

knowledge through recycle relay races in the gym, and designed artwork to enter into an

Earth Day contest hosted by Missouri State Parks. They also got started on the garden

and began brainstorming ideas for things to plant after we're sure there won't be any

more deep freezes! Next week we'll dive deep into the Earth's oceans to finish off our

month about the Earth!

Happy Earth Month!

The 51st international celebration of Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd!

Earth Day is recognized around the world as a day of action to protect our planet by changing our behavior, raising awareness about the climate crisis, and to create global, national, and local policy changes.

The idea for the first Earth Day came from Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970 after a massive oil spill near Santa Barbara, California. Nelson and his team promoted events across the country that inspired 20 million Americans to take to the streets. By the end of 1970, the first Earth Day led to the creation of the EPA and numerous important environmental laws.

This month, we've organized activity ideas for students, staff, families to celebrate Earth Day at home or at school.

We're looking forward to celebrating Earth Day with everyone! Please share your photos and celebrations with us using #ParkwayEarthDay
