PANTHER NEWS
JANUARY 2022
GREETINGS CITRUS COVE ELEMENTARY FAMILIES,
Happy New Year! As we begin 2022, let us take a moment to reflect on 2021. Together we worked through challenges and seized opportunities. The events of this past year have proven that our students and staff are remarkably resilient. The start of a new year provides a natural reflection point and a clear opportunity to bring meaningful change for ourselves and the community around us. Appropriately, January is National Mentoring Month, which is a critical call for positive community engagement. Throughout the month, we find opportunities to safely and responsibly model for our students a truth that mentoring amplifies change, one relationship at a time. To find out how to become a mentor, or simply share your story of how a mentor changed your life, visit mentoring.org
As we enter the middle of the 2nd Trimester, we look forward to a safe, healthy, and positive start to a new year. If your child is sick, please keep them home until they are feeling better. If your child tests positive for COVID 19; please inform your child's teacher and the front office immediately so that we can begin the contact tracing process.
School starts promptly at 8:00 a.m., students need to be in their seats by 8:00 a.m. Please make sure your child arrives at school on time each day. Your child will be marked tardy if they arrive in the front office later after 8:04 a.m. Students need to be at school and on time each day. If your child is eating breakfast; they must arrive no later than 7:40 each morning.
Sincerely,
Dr. Cromwell

Our 4th and 5th-grade Panther Performers performed an exceptional show, December in Our Town. We have such amazing talent at our school. A special THANK YOU to Mr. Phung for providing exceptional sound for our performance. Thank you to all of our teachers and staff who joined us for this special evening.
MRS. LEVENTHAL'S CLASS - HOUR OF CODE
The School District of Palm Beach County engaged in an Hour of Code week in December. The hour of code is a weeklong event in which students explore computer science in many different and imaginative ways. Mrs. Leventhal’s Kindergarten class went unplugged for the Hour of Code. These programming Panthers learned about algorithms and had fun with a “Happy Maps” code.org, activity, and many others. Unplugged or fully “teched out”, coding was what it was all about!!! We are so proud of our outstanding Kindergarten students!
