MUSIC MENTORS!
The entire Eighth Grade Concert Band recently packed up their instruments and headed over to Livingston High School where they were met by members of the LHS Marching Lancer Band. During this fun and loud rehearsal led by the LHS students, the eighth graders learned some of the pep tunes played by the marching band during varsity football games. In addition, the director, Jim Hegedus, and assistant director, Michael Jedwabnik, welcomed the eighth grade students and encouraged them to join the marching band in ninth grade.
The following day, 34 of the eighth graders returned to enjoy dinner with the full LHS marching band and joined the marching band members in the bleachers at the home varsity football game against Montville High School. All 144 students played and danced their hearts out, cheering on the football team. Eighth graders were overheard giving rave reviews like, "I love how loud it is!" and "How do the flutes play that high?" and "Can I sign up now?"
This annual event is a great way to promote the LHS music program and bring LPS student musicians together!
