A Message from Mrs. Booth
Dear Silver Springs Families,
It's hard to believe that we have been teaching and learning from home for six weeks! I hope that you have settled into a routine and are finding balance. At my house, things ran a bit more smoothly this week and we are learning how to navigate our time and space with each other.
Third Marking Period Report cards were released on Tuesday, April 21st. Classroom teachers reached out to you to offer an opportunity to conference with them should you desire, after you have reviewed the report card. If you would like to schedule a conference with any of the Humanities teachers, please reach out to them via email.
The District continues to be committed to providing up to date information to all of our families as it becomes available. You can access information, updates, and FAQs via the Northville Public Schools website or at this link: NPS School Closing and COVID-19 FAQs
Technology devices are available for loan to students who do not have access. Please complete this Technology Device Checkout Form to request the use of a device. You can reach our Technology Department Help Desk at 248-344-3680 Monday - Friday from 8am-4pm.
Stay safe and be well!
Katie Booth
Principal

Spring Conferences
Traditionally our spring conferences are our Student-Led Conferences. Unfortunately, this year, we will be unable to hold student-led conferences in the way that we usually do. Therefore, classroom teachers will be reaching out to you to offer an opportunity to conference with them should you desire to set up a time to speak with them.
If you would like to speak with any of the humanities or support teachers please email the specific teacher to set up a day and time to meet with them.

Daddy Daughter Dance Update from the PTA
We know many are disappointed about the Golden Gala being missed this year. Our DDD is such an enjoyable and memorable event for our Silver Springs girls. We hope you were able to take some time to dance, take fun photos, or do a fun activity with someone special this weekend.
No checks have been deposited for those that had turned in DDD slips before school was closed. When the office reopens for the public, your checks can be returned or simply shredded. We will keep you updated if there are any new developments to the dance.
We hope you are all well and staying healthy which is the most important thing.

We are aware that many families may be experiencing a reduction or loss of income due to pandemic closures in our community and state. Please know that Northville Public Schools continues to accept applications for Free/ Reduced meal benefits until June. You can apply online on the Northville Public Schools website or if you need a paper application, they can be picked up at Northville High School on Tuesday or Friday between 9 am and 12 pm. Paper applications may be returned at the same location during those times as well.
At this time, the State of Michigan is providing extra benefits to students that qualify for Free/Reduced price meals in the form of Pandemic EBT benefits (see attached flyer). If you submit an F/R application by May 8th, and your benefit eligibility status changes to free or reduced, you will be eligible for Pandemic EBT Benefits. The benefit will be $5.70 per day per child, for each of your family members 18 years of age or younger, or enrolled in a special education program 26 years of age or younger. Applications approved before the end of June will be effective for the first 30 days of the 2020-2021 school year.

Medical Mask and Supportive Art Update - Thank you for Everything!
Dear NPS School Community,
Weeks ago four health care providers from our community, Dr. Vidooshi Maru, Dr. Anita Sinha, Dr. Melissa Heinen, and P.A. Bindiya Nandwana came together to stand in the gap for our Health Care Providers. NPS Elementary Principals put out a request for sewists, families, and crafters to make mask covers and face shields, and to donate gloves, medical grade masks, sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes. We have been overwhelmed by your generosity. Your donations have resulted in thousands of useful items that were gratefully accepted by health care providers, hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and front line workers in other industries as well, such as grocery stores, and restaurants. Thank you, Northville community, for your support.
At this time we are gratefully suspending the project as we have met the most pressing needs in our community. On behalf of our Health Care Providers, our frontline and essential workers, thank you to the community of home sewists, fabric workers, drapers, upholsterers, crafters, and families. To those of you who contributed materials and time, we thank you. Your handiness and skill have truly made a difference! You are ESSENTIAL!
Thank you,
Northville Elementary School Principals
