ELAR
- Literacy Assessments will begin on September 1st. They are to be completed and entered into Aware by September 29th. Teachers are to report a student's instructional reading level in Aware.
- Lucy Calkins online resources are available for reading & writing. Has your team utilized the keycodes to access the resources? Please set up a time with me to support you with this process.
MATH
- Grades 1-5 teams should be introducing literacy strategy lessons in problem solving.
- TEMI-is a Universal Screener for Kinder-2nd grade levels that should only be used for SST or SpEd documentation. Information on the TEMI screeners along with intervention lessons are located on Forethought under the First Steps Resources folder.
- Think Through Math (TTM)- Our technology department is working on building files for TTM since the company has changed their format and process. The goal is to have it up and running for students on September 12.
- MSTAR/ESTAR: MSTAR (5th grade) and ESTAR (2nd-4th grades) are algebraic screeners on computers (online) by the state are administered in the fall, winter and spring. This will be the first year for ESTAR. Debbie Saldana is inputting students and will let us know when it's ready to go.

SCIENCE
- Please give me last names, first names and emails of the teachers that are designated as your science leads.
- September 13th is the first 5th Grade Collaborative from 3:30-5 at the Technology Annex, Room 220. If you teach 5th grade science register in eduphoria workshop.
- September 20th is the first 4th Grade Collaborative from 3:30-5 at the Technology Annex, Room 220. If you teach 4th grade science please register in eduphoria workshop.
SOCIAL STUDIES
September 12- 16 Celebrate Freedom Week and Constitution Day
In 3rd-5th grades, we have the opportunity to observe Celebrate Freedom Week, September 12-16, and Constitution Day on September 16 (formally observed on September 17) with our students. As the law states, on September 16, students in grades 3-5 will study and recite the following:
"We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Created with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness- That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed."
