ECSE Updates

ECSE is moving to Instructional Level 4

In accordance with FPS COVID-19 Instructional Plan Committee decision, our Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program will move to Level 4 instruction beginning October 26, 2020. This means that your child will be coming as the same number of days as is written into his or her IEP, or what they were receiving prior to the COVID-19 school building closure last Spring. For a majority of our students this will mean students come four days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, but some students do not attend four days per week per their IEP. If you have questions about the number of days your child will attend beginning October 26th, please check with your child's teacher or call the ECSE office at 701-446-3100.

We will keep the current hours for both our morning and afternoon sessions with mornings being in session from 8:00 am-10:30 am and afternoons being in session from 12:10 pm-2:40pm. This will provide ample time between sessions to adequately clean our rooms and materials in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We will also continue to have students and staff wear masks and social distance when possible.

Busing Changes

Because we will have a majority of our students coming four days per week, please expect some changes to your child's busing. Bus routes, bus numbers, as well as pick up and drop off times may change. Valley Bus will contact you if your child's bus number of pick up or drop off time change by more than 5 minutes. If you do not receive a phone call from Valley Bus it means that your child's bus number or pick up and drop off times did not change.
Big picture
We are excited that we will be seeing our students more often. While we are at Level 4 our teachers will not be posting regularly scheduled videos on See Saw and sending activities home on a regular basis. We will still use See Saw, however, to communicate with you, share pictures of your child working hard at school and to share some recommended activities for carryover of learning at home. We encourage you to check the See Saw app on your child's iPad frequently.

As always if anyone has questions or concerns, please call the ECSE office at 701-446-3100.
