2021-2022 School Year
Dear Tilghman Families,
Here are a few updates and reminders to keep you informed.
Marking Period
Time is passing quickly! We have one week left in the third quarter. The quarter ends on Friday, March 25th. Please remind your child to make sure that all classwork is complete and turned in. Quarter 4 begins on Monday, March 28, 2022. Third quarter report cards will be emailed home on April 1, 2022.
PTO
We are still looking for more families to participate in the PTO. Please consider joining us. We need all voices and welcome new ideas. The next meeting is April 7th at 6:00.
Good news! If you haven't had a chance to purchase your TES Spirit Wear, you still have time. Chincheck Sports Locker extended our deadline to Thursday, March 31st. Check out the new awesome designs! You won't want to miss this.
2022-2023 Registration Dates
Please call to schedule an appointment to register for the 2022-2023 school year. The dates are 3/25, 4/7, and 5/4. These registration dates are for incoming Pre-K, Kindergarten, or other students new to TES. Students currently in Pre-K are already enrolled and there is nothing further parents need to do.
Upcoming Spring Book Fair
Our spring book fair will be held May 16th-20th. We are looking for volunteers and a coordinator. The coordinator will be in charge of overseeing the fair and volunteers, much like a manager. Ms. Decelle will have more information in the near future. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Ms. Decelle directly.

Reminder
As we head into the spring months, if your child is exhibiting any Covid related symptoms, please KEEP THEM HOME and reach out to our school nurse, Tracy Batley. tbatley@talbotschools.org She can communicate quarantine information for school and answer any questions you may have. Our parents have been wonderful at communicating student illnesses with us, so THANK YOU!
If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!

TES Highlights
Social Emotional Learning at TES- Week of March 21st- Humor
Dear Families,
This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Humor. Humor means you like to laugh and bring smiles to other people.
Humor is a sense of playfulness and lightness. It is a way of looking at and describing the world that brings laughter to people. A person with the strength of humor is skilled at seeing the funny side of things, bringing smiles and laughter to others, and identifying and communicating the absurdities in life. People with this strength don’t specifically need to be joke tellers, although many are.
Humor plays an important role in helping groups of people rise above difficult circumstances and boost morale. It removes us from our present difficulties by easing tension and making life more fun. This is why athletic teams often need a jokester to help them get through tough losses and early morning fitness sessions. On a larger societal level, humor often helps downtrodden groups to find cohesion and strength. This is why Simon Wiesenthal said, “Humor is the weapon of unarmed people: it helps people who are oppressed smile at the situation that pains them.”
Have a wonderful week!
