Beginning of the Year Guide
We have already reached the end of our first week together in PK3.2 and what a busy time it has been!
We began the week asking the question "What names do we need to know at school?" We sang songs to help us learn each other’s names, found our names on our cubbies and on our morning attendance chart. We learnt the names of the different choice centers in the classroom and we learnt the names of our teachers!
Your children have done so well this week, you should be very proud of them. I know we are!
If you have any questions, however big or small please do not hesitate to get in touch. dcruz@isp.edu.pa
Have a great weekend everyone.
Important Reminders
- Family Picture (you may send it my email)
- Label your child's belongings
- Lunchbox policy: children must bring their snack and water bottle in a lunchbox (no rolling, no backpacks)
Humpty Dumpty
We spent a lot of time talking about Humpy Dumpty this week. How he has such an interesting name, how our names are all different and how they sound when we clap them out.
We asked the question "What would happen if Humpty fell off a wall?"
Every Friday we use the Elementary Art room. This week Ms. Nicole guided us in an activity based on the rhyme "Humpty Dumpty". We colored, cut and pasted the egg...take a look below to see our creativity.
Pat a Cake
Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake,
baker's man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can;
Pat it and shape it and mark it with "B",
And bake it in the oven for baby and me

Gross Motor
This week they focused on:

Library
We are fortunate to have a wonderful Elementary library at ISP and each Wednesday we are able to spend time there with our librarian, Ms Nuri. This week Ms Nuri introduced us to the wonderful books that are available to read. She helped us learn how to behave in the library, reading a book to us about some children who did not take good care of books and tore them, scribbled on them. They even used them with dirty hands and spilled juice on them. Imagine!
Together we read the story "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" by Eric Carle. By the end we were predicting what the animals would see next.
