Final Week of Testing!!!

Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20 will be our final week of NWEA testing for our K-4th graders. This week will focus on math. The students are all doing a great job and are really taking their time. Please continue to encourage your student. Also make sure they are getting a good night's rest and are arriving at school on time to stay on the testing schedule. Thank you for your cooperation and encouragement during this time of testing.

Year End Activities!!!

As the school year comes to a close we have many exciting activities planned. For the first time since 2019 we are going on field trips (cue the cheering)!!! Please check your student's backpack for all pertinent information regarding field trips. Permission slips should be returned in a timely manner. Also it is VERY important that your student is at school on time on field trip days as we have some early bus departures and we will be unable to wait for late students.

We also have our Field Day coming up. It will be held on Thursday, June 2. Please look in next week's newsletter for a list of items we would love to have donated to make our Field Day even better.

We will be celebrating our fourth graders on Friday, June 3. Fourth grade families will receive further details regarding this. The day will end with a celebratory clap-out. If you would like to be a part of this, you may help us line the playground as our fourth graders are clapped-out :)

Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 are both half days. Dismissal on those two days will be 11:50 a.m.

Finish Strong!!!

Let's finish strong over the next three weeks and end the year on a high note. Below are some areas we could concentrate on:

1. Be on time!!! As a family set a goal of being on time every day for the last three weeks.

2. Stay all day!!! We have many students picked up early every day. This cuts into your student's learning. Often for our 3rd and 4th graders this is during their science class which is always a favorite time of day for them. Early pick-ups are also EXTREMELY disruptive.

3. Remember The Spartan Way. Kindness goes a long way. Encourage your student to build peers up as opposed to tearing them down. We are most successful when we are all working as a team and this carries over to the classroom as well.

Thank you for your help with these areas. We can finish strong and set the foundation for the 2022-2023 school year :)

Staff Spotlight: Mr. Barnes
