Final Week of Testing!!!
Year End Activities!!!
We also have our Field Day coming up. It will be held on Thursday, June 2. Please look in next week's newsletter for a list of items we would love to have donated to make our Field Day even better.
We will be celebrating our fourth graders on Friday, June 3. Fourth grade families will receive further details regarding this. The day will end with a celebratory clap-out. If you would like to be a part of this, you may help us line the playground as our fourth graders are clapped-out :)
Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 are both half days. Dismissal on those two days will be 11:50 a.m.
Finish Strong!!!
1. Be on time!!! As a family set a goal of being on time every day for the last three weeks.
2. Stay all day!!! We have many students picked up early every day. This cuts into your student's learning. Often for our 3rd and 4th graders this is during their science class which is always a favorite time of day for them. Early pick-ups are also EXTREMELY disruptive.
3. Remember The Spartan Way. Kindness goes a long way. Encourage your student to build peers up as opposed to tearing them down. We are most successful when we are all working as a team and this carries over to the classroom as well.
Thank you for your help with these areas. We can finish strong and set the foundation for the 2022-2023 school year :)
Staff Spotlight: Mr. Barnes
"There is music in every child. The teacher's job is to find it and nurture it." ~ Frances Clark
Mr. Barnes is our substitute music teacher for the rest of the school year. He is a Lakeview graduate. He is now a senior at Michigan State University (Go Green) and is studying to be a teacher. He is super excited to share his love of music with everyone here at Prairieview.
Outside of school, Mr. Barnes loves to play tennis, spend time with friends, and play the piano.
Prairieview Elementary is so fortunate to have Mr. Barnes here with us for the duration of the year. Welcome to the team Mr. Barnes!!!
