Project Fit - Playground Update - 2/18/22 Communication

Dear Doyle Parents/Guardians,

The purpose of this email is to share information regarding the Project Fit equipment on our Doyle playground.

Over two decades ago, a grant was created for Project Fit equipment as an initiative of the Doylestown Hospital System for many CBSD Schools. An assessment of that equipment was recently completed across the elementary level, and it has been determined that due to safety, age, etc. - each of the schools' Project Fit equipment (only) will be caution-taped off until the District removes it in the next several weeks. Our main playground, which is the larger, more heavily-used equipment will remain untouched.

Fortunately for Doyle, our main playground area is rather new, in great condition, and one of the best! We will continue to provide access to recess balls, jump ropes, etc. during recess along with the grassy fields and blacktop games as alternative areas for activities.

When visiting our Doyle campus during evenings or on weekends, thank you for your parental supervision and support in keeping the safety of our students in mind by remaining off of the taped equipment until it is fully removed.

Kind regards,

Kate Fantaskey

2/18/22 - A Message from Dr. Lucabaugh - Cafeteria Seating

Dear Elementary Families,

As the district continues to experience a steady reduction of COVID cases, we are in the process of reexamining many of the protocols implemented in our schools during the height of the pandemic. One of these areas is the seating configurations currently used in our elementary cafeterias.

At present, our elementary schools have achieved the conditions that enabled all secondary schools to fully open cafeteria seating in the fall; therefore, our elementary schools will transition accordingly. Beginning Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022, all Central Bucks elementary schools will transition to the cafeteria seating arrangements utilized prior to the pandemic.

St. Patrick's Day Staff Luncheon

We feel so LUCKY to have such amazing staff at Doyle. Let's celebrate our luck on St. Patrick's Day with a staff luncheon during the first day of spring conferences.

The luncheon will be held this year on Thursday, March 17th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Fab Lab for staff to grab in between parent conferences. We will be doing a Build-Your-Own-Salad Bar so are asking for all the elements to be donated to allow the staff to create their own meal.

Counselor's Corner

Sparks Newsletter ~ February 2022

As part of the State mandate for career education, all Pennsylvania students are to receive information on the various pathways available to them to pursue their interests including post-secondary education, the world of work or the military. As one part of this we have developed a long-standing relationship with the local Career Technical Center, Middle Bucks Institute of Technology.

At the high school level, our students can spend half of their school day at MBIT in classrooms and program laboratories receiving specific training in areas such as horticulture or electronics. While in the middle school grades, students attend presentations about the many programs which can lead to visits or even shadowing a current student in programs such as commercial art or dental occupations. Summer school programs are also conducted in many areas of interest including Drone Discovery and Pastry Art.

Over the last few years, we have also shared information with our elementary students through in-person tours (when permitted) and most recently real-time virtual panels and visits given by the current MBIT students to our sixth-grade classes. These tours are scheduled again for this May.

Take a tour yourself and find out more about the many opportunities available to the Central Bucks students
