SOCIAL WORK TIP OF THE MONTH
"TIME"
Can you believe it is the 2nd month of 2020?
What time is it?
What time will we get there?
How much more time is left?
Time flies.
Where did the time go?
The sayings go on and on. We live in a society, that is constantly reflecting on time. Whether looking at the developmental aspects of our lives or the way in which our future will pan out. We are constantly, looking at time and connecting it to our lives. Often, we are so focused on time, that we lose track of what is actually happening around us right now!
Even in difficult times, we want to try to stay present. Wishing time away, takes us away from the present moment. One of the best parts about working with children, is that they are very present in their activities and social interactions. As adults, we can learn so much from how children are able to live in the moment.
As we embark on a new decade, we want to try to understand the importance of time and enjoying every moment. It is hard to believe, that we are already into the second month of 2020.
Physicists define time as the progression of events from the past to the present into the future. Basically, if a system is unchanging, it is timeless.
Just remember that Time is a concept and expression that permeates our language thoughts perceptions and our arrangements with others.
We all define our experiences in a unique way. So take your time to enjoy what is happening around you. As this moment will soon pass and be part of our past. Enjoy your children. Enjoy this very special time.
Best wishes for 2020
