What's New With Iowa AEA Online?

Brittanica School Updates

Britannica is including access to ImageQuest through July 31, 2016. ImageQuest has about 3 million images available from renowned collections. The images are copyright cleared for educational use. You can access ImageQuest from the Britannica School homepage by selecting ImageQuest from the "Your Britannica Resources" drop-down menu found in the upper right corner of the page. ImageQuest images will also be included in your search result (Middle/High School levels) when you click on "View Your Search in ImageQuest."

If teachers and students have created individual accounts in Britannica, they will also have the ability to save selected images.

Here's a sample image found when doing a search for ocean life.

Escolar Online

Britannica School has added a primary and secondary Spanish version of Britannica School. To access this resource, go to "Your Britannica Resources" found in the upper right corner of the page. Using the pull-down menu, select Escolar Online. Escolar Online is formatted very much like Britannica School.

My Britannica

Both teachers and students have the ability to create individual accounts in Britannica. For students it is as simple as signing up for an account and completing the registration. For teachers, an additional school code is needed.

Recently, Britannica added the ability to add your own content in addition to the Britannica resources you can save and organize. Britannica has also made it easier to convert that content to a lesson plan. Any of your saved content can be easily shared with others by simply providing a URL. For example, if you wanted to see the content I've saved related to Native Americans, you could simply click on this shared link: http://eb.com/31654

If you have questions about creating an account, please feel free to contact me.
