Parent Participation
We know parents are busy. Everyone has multiple commitments. Being a participant at your child's school can fit into a busy schedule. There are many levels of commitment available including being a member of the board, attending meetings regularly, and making yourself available for events and activities. Any level of commitment is a commitment to your child's education and to the future of Norwood.
I cannot overstate the importance of the PTO. They help fund so many activities including educational materials, guest speakers, field trips, sporting equipment, awards, and celebrations. Without the PTO and strong parent commitment there are many activities that would not be possible here at CMS. Imagine a recess with no equipment, a school year with no field trips, and few opportunities for engagement for students.
So I am here, very blatantly, asking for more parents to help. Can you be a board member? Or share a board position? Can you help out at events? Can you make time once a month to attend a meeting and find out what is happening at CMS? I also struggle with this as a parent. I have attended very few of my children's PTO meetings but my PTO president knows my email and knows I am there to help for any event. If you are able to help please contact the PTO at coakleypto@gmail.com.

Parking Lot Safety
- Please make sure to drive slowly and carefully
- Please do not pick up students in the middle of the intersection, pull forward as far as possible into the pick up lane before allowing your child to enter the vehicle.
- If waiting please park in a parking spot in the lot
- Please remind your children (as we do) to use the cross walks - either the one in the front or the one in the middle of the lane.
- Follow the directives of the staff located in the area.
While getting stuck behind buses can be frustrating, it is important to keep the safety of our students in mind.
