Week of April 2, 2023 ASBA

Holy Week, 2023

Dear Families,

Today marks the beginning of Holy Week - the holiest time in the Catholic Church. This week students will learn the significance of each day of Holy Week. We will join together to celebrate Holy Thursday and mark the first day of the Triduum. Thursday is the last day of school this week. We begin our break on Friday, April 7, and will return to school on Monday, April 17th.

Monday at 8 AM and at 5 PM we have our Parent Association Club meeting. Please try to attend one, if possible! We have fun events in the works.

On Tuesday, we will celebrate the feast day of our patron, St Benedict the African. Children will learn more about him and his life.

IAR make-up tests will continue this week. Our goal is to get the test completed before our break.

Our Football team won a tough game on Saturday 14 - 7. We are proud of their Better Together attitude!

Registration for the 2023-2024 school year continues. Over 165 children are registered, including many new students! If we hit 175 by Tuesday afternoon, students will enjoy a movie and popcorn on Thursday afternoon. Did you register?

Get those seats saved now. The registration fee is $100/per student. Beginning on Wednesday, all registered students may dress down on Wednesdays through the end of the year. Each registered K-7th grade student received a flyer if they are able to dress down. The class of 2023 does not get a dress-down day on Wednesdays.

As you get registered, I will work with each family to ensure a financial contract that works for the family and the school.

Also, if you refer a new family, you will receive a $300 tuition credit (credited $150 in Dec and May). We will fill up! Use this link: https://forms.gle/mGCqKp9M5YAgxhj48. It's also on the app!

Empower Illinois and Big Shoulders SGO are starting to make awards for the 23-24 school year. Keep an eye on your email if you applied! Time is of the essence! We will begin sending out contracts for the upcoming school year right after Spring Break. As a reminder, each family may only accept one tax credit scholarship. If you are awarded both BSF and EI, select one (they're both the same).

We have shared the 2023-2024 school year calendar with you both as a paper copy (sent two weeks ago) and below as a digital image and downloadable PDF. Our school day will be a bit longer next year as the day will begin at 7:45 AM and end at 3 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays, we will dismiss at 2:30 to accommodate faculty meetings. Before and after-school care hours remain the same.

Please keep sick children home. Keep home COVID tests on hand so children can be tested in the event they have symptoms. As a school, we have done an excellent job keeping everyone well. We have a shared commitment to the school community to keep everyone well.

Physicals are needed if your child is entering K, 2, or 6 or will play Flag Football in the fall or basketball in 23-24. Make those appointments now and send the forms in asap!

Tuition Payments & Action for Children

Each family has an account in FACTS to monitor their tuition account. Payments for most are due on the 17th of the month. A few of our families have different due dates to accommodate pay periods. As a reminder, late fees are automatically assessed on the 4th day after the due date.

It's essential that payments are made as scheduled so that the school can meet its obligations. April 3rd is an exclusion date.

Please get in touch with me if you have concerns.
