FREE Wi-Fi at NEISD campuses
Did you know that NEISD allows teachers and students to bring their personal devices from home (laptop, iPad, Smartphone, Chromebook) and access the NEISD Network for FREE? It’s part of NEISD’s BYOD program, which stands for “Bring Your Own Device.” This initiative encourages students to utilize their own devices to access the Internet and online classroom resources without using their data plan.
Your student can access this network by choosing “NEISD WiFi” from the list of Wi-Fi networks on their device and logging in with their school credentials. NOTE: this access filters out inappropriate content, social media, and other potentially malicious websites and apps.
As always, we suggest you continue having an open dialogue with your child regarding appropriate Internet use and digital citizenship.

Family Specialist Spotlight
Sandra Fernandez began her career as a Family Specialist in November of 2015. Prior to working at NEISD, she worked for Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in the Office of Admissions for 13 years after having received her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in May of 2002. It was in 2003 while attending a college fair in south Texas that she met her husband, Mark. They have three beautiful children ages 12, 9, and 6 years old. Sandra obtained her Masters of Education Degree in Leadership and Policy Studies with an emphasis in Higher Education from the University of Texas in San Antonio in December of 2012. She was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas by her grandmother. She understands that her success is not her own. It belongs to her grandmother, her 2nd Grade teacher—Mrs. Vela, and middle school tennis coach—Mr. Gilcrease—whom she lovingly refers to as Daddy Gil. It was with the help of these extraordinary people and many others that she graduated from high school and pursued degrees in higher education. What a beautiful example of just how much teachers and campus staff members make on a child's life! It is with this same compassion, persistence, and love that she works with parents, families, students and colleagues at Nimitz/STEM. The Nimitz/STEM families and community members are blessed to have Sandra advocating for them! Thank you, Sandra for your natural passion to help others and for your hard work and dedication to help ALL of your students and their families!
