Friday, November 15th - No School
All students will be utilizing the new entrance for drop off starting on Monday morning. including walkers, moped riders, bus riders, and commuters. Pick up at the end of the day will continue to be at the middle school entrance, exactly as it is now. As stated on the map below middle school students will also enter through this entrance and then go to the Middle school and High School students will remain in the cafeteria area until dismissed.

State Volleyball info
We are very excited and proud that our Volleyball Team has qualified for the 2019 State Volleyball Tournament. This is held at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids and we are a part of the Class 2A 8 team bracket. There will be some changes in our school schedule to ensure that any of our parents, students, and staff who would like to attend the game are able to support our team. We hope you will consider a trip to support the Green Devils.
We are offering fan charter buses to the game. Riders ( kids, parents, community) will need $10 for admission to get into the game but no charge to ride the bus. (Need a minimum of 50% of bus occupancy to take the bus) The deadline to sign up for the free pep bus will be at noon on Monday, Nov. 11. Departure at 1 pm on Wednesday and 1 pm on Thursday. The bus will depart from the front of the school (on the East side) This school pep bus is offered to any students or parents, Students under 5th grade must be accompanied by an adult. Please call the high school office at 732-3102.
The first round of State for Osage will be Wednesday, November 13th at 4 PM, This means we will have school on Wednesday till 12:30 at Lincoln and MS/HS 12:45. Lunch WILL be served before students are dismissed. We hope that many of you and the community support the team and drive down or consider taking the fan charter bus being offered.
THURSDAY, November 14: If the volleyball team wins on Wednesday we will be having school on Thursday, November 14th at normal 8:10 start time but DISMISSING school at 12:30 at Lincoln and 12:45 at MS/HS. Lunch WILL be served before students are dismissed. The Green Devils will play at 4 PM on Thursday.
FRIDAY, November 15: If volleyball wins on Thursday, they will play the State Championship game on Friday, November 15th at 4:30. This was already scheduled to be a NO SCHOOL day due to Parent-Teacher Conferences.

7:00 AM- All Pro Dad Breakfast RSVP- This month's topic will be CREATIVITY. Big Idea: Creativity is how we express ourselves and use our minds, gifts, and abilities to better our lives and our community. It allows us to address challenges and provide solutions. It’s important to nurture creativity in our children.
4:00-8:00 PM- Parent-teacher conferences. PTO is planning to provide food for teachers.
Wednesday:
12:30 PM- Early dismissal. Congratulations to the girls' volleyball team qualifying for STATE! We play Grundy Center at 4:00 PM.
Early-out lunch schedule
Thursday:
IF the volleyball team wins, we will dismiss at 12:30 PM and the game would be played at 4:00 PM.
Friday:
No School- Teacher compensation day for parent-teacher conferences.
The North Central Iowa Regional STEM Advisory Board of the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council is providing you the Scale-Up Mathematics Program award for Differentiated Math Centers. The grant will pay for Hand2Mind., supporting math instruction for all students in grades K-4.
Middle School Happenings
* We will be having a bake sale for PBIS at conferences (Monday and Tuesday) so come enjoy some goodies!
* Our Veteran's Day assembly will be held on Monday, at 10:30
* Monday is our turn in day for the OMS fundraiser. Please remind your student to return their packets.

High School Happenings
SUCCESSFUL HAPPENINGS
Osage esports competed this fall in the Beta season of the IAHSEA in two games (Overwatch and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate). We competed against other schools all across the state and had a lot of success. Our Smash Ultimate team was the number 5 seed in the playoffs and was defeated by Colfax-Mingo. Our Overwatch team ended the season as the number 2 seed and made it all the way to the State Championship match against Davenport Central. Chase Halbach, Refe Miller, Fischer Marley, Devyn Arickx, Garrett Tusler, and Andrew Thyer battled hard but came up short losing to Central 3-1. We will compete again in the Spring in League of Legends and Rocket League.
UP AND COMING
Our students have put in countless hours preparing for this years musical. The Elementary students enjoyed a teaser of Beauty and the Beast this week with raving reviews! Tickets are still available, Friday, November 8th at 7:00, Saturday, November 9th at 1:30 & 7:00, Sunday, November 10th at 1:30. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.
Friday, November 8th in celebration of 2019 marking the 50th year of females being allowed to join FFA. The surrounding FFA chapters are holding a leadership event , Ms. Meyer will be taking 31 young ladies to Nashua for this special event.
Tuesday, November 12th Mrs. Abbas will be taking the Junior class to the College Fair in Riceville. What a great opportunity for our students to learn about the options for their future.
Wednesday, November 13th A representative from Iowa State University will be visiting Osage High School to visit with any student interested in learning more about what ISU has to offer.
Athletics
Congratulations to the FB team on their fine season and playoff run.
Finally, Good Luck to our VB team as they compete in the State Tournament next week. First game will be Wednesday at 4pm at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids. Free Charter Bus is filling fast and will depart at 1pm from the HS parking lot. (if we have enough interest we will order a second bus).
A win on Wednesday and the girls will play on Thursday at the exact same time as Wednesday. A win on Thursday and they will play for a State title at 4:30pm on Friday.
