Last week, we received excellent news from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Two of our seniors, Jenna Bhandari and Ishan Shah, have been named finalists for National Merit Scholarships. Winners will be announced in May.

There will be a VIRTUAL interest meeting THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 24th, after school for any JUNIOR girl interested in participating in the Girls' State Program this year. (classroom code: a6bcbii)

What is Girls' State? For over 50 years the American Legion Auxiliary has provided junior girls with a unique opportunity to learn how and why our system of government works. Each year girls from across the country are selected for the program based on their interest in government, leadership potential, scholastic achievement, and personal accomplishments.

Girls’ State is a week-long conference designed to help high school students develop a new perspective on the complexities of government and develop leadership, confidence and poise.

Any Junior girl who is interested in the program, but cannot attend the virtual meeting on Thursday, please ask her to stop by C30 to get the information.

The Prom 2022 Fashion Show hosted by Fashion Club and the LGBTQ club is looking for local vendors to buy table space in the lobby for the evening of the show. The show is Thursday March 10th at 6pm. We are looking for prom related businesses such as limo, floral, nails, salons, tanning, etc. The cost per table is $25. Vendors must supply their own tables. In return not only will they get advertising, we will give them a free ad in the program and be listed as a co- sponsor. They can give out business cards, book appointments, hold raffles, etc.

Scheduling For Next Year Has Begun!

Last week the Guidance Counselors visited with students at HS North, Intermediate North and Intermediate East to go over scheduling options for next year.

The parent portal is officially open now for students and parents to make their course requests. Please make all course requests in the parent portal, the portal will close Friday, 2/25 at 3 PM. Directions for entering requests can be found at:

This March, schools across New Jersey will administer the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) in English language arts (ELA) and Mathematics. The assessments for English language arts (ELA) and Mathematics will be administered to students in grade 11 for the purpose of meeting the state graduation assessment requirement. The state-mandated NJGPA will be administered in our district from March 14 through March 17, 2022 with make-up dates from March 21 through March 24, 2022.
