What consisted in this great army?

Only men could join, no women.They had 30 Legions with 4000 to 6000 men called Legionaries. Each Legion had 10 Corhorts.There was a group that consisted of 6 troops and 80 legionaries called centuries-each lead by a centurion.The officer that lead the whole army was a legate.

The Things You had to Have to be in the army

Every man had to be a Roman citizen.They had to be at least 20 years of age.Once you were in, you were in, you had to serve for at least 25 years.

The weapons and clothing of a soldier

Some weapons they had were a Gladius/sword, long spear, a pointed javelen/Pilum, and a sheild.They wore armour made of iron and leather, a metal helmet, and military boots.
