December, a Season for Giving!
As a school, we collected food for our Thanksgiving Food Drive, and will now support other families in need through our annual Adopt-a-Family gift drive for the December holidays.
During the next few weeks, we will also be participating in writing community kindness cards for patients at Eden Medical Center, and for local veterans. These are all tangible ways our students can make a difference in the lives of those in our community. Thank you to everyone who have been contributing to these worthy causes. We are fortunate to have so many people who are willing and able to support those in our community.
Adopt a Family!
Once again, Proctor Elementary is adopting families in need. We are asking the Proctor community to help meet their needs this holiday season. Many requests are for basic items and necessities.
Gift tags with the families' requests are on display in the main office, and will be available for pick-up by December 9th.
Please stop by and take a snowman tag (or 2 or 3) if you are able to help fulfill these holiday wishes.
All gifts need to be turned in to the Proctor main office by Monday, December 18th.
Gifts should be wrapped and have the original snowman gift tag attached to the outside of the wrapped gift.
A million thanks for all your help!

Marquee Community Discussion Meeting!
Following our November PTA meeting, it was made clear to the Board of the PTA that the Proctor Community needs more time and focus ti discuss this issue that can be afforded during our regular PTA meetings.
With this in mind we have reached out to a Proctor parent and association member, Dan Reilly, who is a professional facilitator, to help guide the discussion in a community-building direction. Together, we have developed a plan to provide forums for the community to share their thoughts to get the association to an informed vote on the marquee.
The PTA will be hosting two facilitated events separate from the PTA meeting that are designed to allow everyone an opportunity to express their thoughts about the marquee. The first event will be held on Tuesday, December 17 from 6:30-8:00 PM. Child care will be sponsored by the PTA; however, we will not be providing food. The second event has not been scheduled yet, but we do anticipate that it will happen in January.
Our collective goal is that the association can vote on the purchase of a new marquee for our school through a process where everyone has a voice and that will build and strengthen our community regardless of what the final decision or outcome may be.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, 12/17! @ 6:30 - 8:00 PM
More information will be shared at the December 3rd PTA Association meeting.
Thank You,
Proctor PTA
2019-2020 CA HEALTHY KIDS SURVEY for CVUSD Families
This survey will be given out to all California public school students and parents/families. It's a tool supported by the California Department of Education to help districts meet Local control Accountability Plan (LCAP) priorities to improve school climate, pupil engagement, parent involvement, and academic achievement.
The student survey includes questions on the supports provided to children; school connectedness, climate, and safety; and risk factors such as violence and substance use. Keep an eye out for more information that will be sent concerning this survey, along with a parent consent form to allow your student to participate.
We hope that both you and your student/s will participate so that your opinions and knowledge can be part of the information gleaned from the survey to inform our LCAP planning.
To participate in the CVUSD CA Healthy Kids Survey as a community school member please click here! We appreciate your time in providing us with this feedback!
Bay Area Children's Theater - The Aristocrats Kids!
Join us in supporting the Castro Valley Unified School District's afters-school musical program! This winter Proctor students will be performing Disney's Aristocats Kids!
Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns. In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it's up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O'Malley, and his band of swingin' jazz cats to save the day.

Also, You will see a “Z” on the attendance part of your child’s report card. That is for the Friday that we did not have school due to the smoke from the fires. It will not affect your child’s attendance unless they were already on Independent Study or were unexcused due to a family trip. Questions? Please call the office.

We are short noon duty supervisors during lunch time. If you have the availability to serve as a noon supervisor between the hours of 11:30 - 1:15, we need you! We are specifically low staffed on Wednesdays and Fridays, but would appreciate the help throughout the week.
