How to Talk to Your Kids About the Coronavirus
Talking to Children About COVID-19 (Coronavirus): A Parent Resource
Dear Families,
Thank you to all of our families that made arrangements to pick up your students' work last week. We only had 39 that could not, and those were delivered to home addresses. If you were unable to pick up your child's packet and did not have their packet delivered, please contact Principal Kelsey at rkelsey@rhmail.org.
As we all navigate new times, we will keep a website or resources available for both teachers and families to use at home:
https://sites.google.com/view/ebinportremoteresources/home
By now, your child's teacher should have shared their office hours with you. If they have not, please reach out to them by email or the communication means you use with the teacher. Every day, they will be available to help your child or answer your questions for two hours.
Please be sure you are checking Class Dojo and Canvas (for 3rd - 5th graders) regularly so that you and your child can receive announcements and keep up with their school work.
If you need assistance, please contact us at helpme@rhmail.org or call our dedicated phone support hotline, 803-980-2016 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. on weekdays. We will work with our team members to retrieve items from your child’s school and, when possible, coordinate delivery to your home.
Our free “grab and go” meal service will continue Monday through Friday at five school locations throughout this closure. Breakfast will be available between 8 – 10 a.m. and lunch will be available between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Meals will be available to all children 18 years of age and younger. To pick up a meal, please visit the location most convenient to you. Children must be present with a parent or guardian to receive a free meal.

At each location, meals will be distributed from a Wi-Fi equipped school bus at each location. Students at each site will be able to connect to Wi-Fi hotspots as need to work on eLearning assignments.

Storytime with Mrs. Sawczuk
Hi Friends!
I will be posting read alouds each day for students to view and enjoy – picture books for PreK through Second Grade and I’ll read a chapter book with Third through Fifth Grades. Please look for these through Canvas and/or Class Dojo. Reading is so, so important and we want to make sure our students have the opportunity to keep enjoying stories while at home. And maybe reading with a familiar face will help :)
My office hours are from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Please feel free to contact me through Dojo, Canvas, or at ssawczuk@rhmail.org.
Here are the first two to get you started - check Dojo each day for more:
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sawczuk

Title I Parent and Family Engagement Survey
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) legislation requires school districts to receive input from parents concerning the parent and family engagement activities offered in the Title I schools in the district.
Please complete the survey (https://forms.gle/ZWGMC5UjaMMycnEM9) before April 17. Your responses will assist the school district in ensuring that parent and family engagement activities being offered at your child’s school meet your needs and interests.
The results of the survey will be used to strengthen the home to school partnership. If you have any questions concerning the survey, please contact Dr. Tonya Belton, Director of Federal Programs, at 803-981-1052.
