Teacher efficacy is an emergent school level variable reflecting a faculty's collective belief in its ability to positively affect students. Having a facult that believes that it can accomplish great things is vital for the health of a school.

Is teacher efficacy evident in the following movie clip? Is it collective? Who believes that they have the ability to positively affect students? - Mr. Turner or Miss Riley?

Upcoming Monday Meetings

We had staff attend workshops recently.

Angela and I attended a two day workshop on Visible Learning. It focused on teachers who see learning through the eyes of their students and students seeing themselves as their own teachers. Students begin to see themselves as their own teacher when the learning target is clear and success criteria is understood. Here they evaluate their learning in relation to the success criteria and the feedback given to them by their teacher. Do your students know what they need to do and what quality work looks like within the subject matter that they are working on? As you gather end of unit assessment information, meet with your grade level colleague and discuss your impact with one another, based on the learning demonstrated by your students on that assessment. What can you gain from collaborating with your colleague that can enhance or validate teaching moves made during instruction? We will share information related to our workshop during PLCs, Monday Meetings, and Institute Days.

Culleen and Kristen attended a workshop on STAR. They gained some knowledge from the workshop that they will combine with previous knowledge on STAR 360 and they will share information with staff at our Monday meeting held on Monday, October 26. This is a meeting with certified staff.

Danielle, Kim, Inez, and Maureen attended a workshop on Autism. They gained a lot of valuable information to share with staff. They will share knowledge gained at our Monday meeting held on Monday, November 2, which is an ALL STAFF meeting.
