Causes and Symptoms

Causes: Can be inherited, overeating, high amounts of simple carbohydrates, frequently eating large meals, slow metabolism, low physical activity, medications, psychological issues, and diseases.


Symptoms: Increased health problems, like pain in the back or joints, rashes in folds of the skin, overweight/ weight gain, insomnia/ snoring, binge eating, depression, and fatigue.

Foods to include and foods to avoid

Include: Smaller potions, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, and other healthy sources of protein, and fresh (whole) fruits and veggies.

Avoid: Sugary drinks, like soda, fruit juice (small amounts), refined grains, potatoes, red and processed meats, and highly processed foods, like fast foods.
