Our Wednesday assembly- goal setting
We have had assemblies once a month on Wednesdays for quite a few years. They are a way for me to remind students of our expectations but, more importantly they allow me to share my thoughts about character traits. This month we spoke about goal setting, in particular setting goals related to reading. Here's a link to the presentation I shared with our students. We culminated the assembly by creating "goal chains" by homerooms. Each student and staff member has a link to our chain. The chain hangs in our commons as a reminder of our personal part in our school goal of raising reading scores which really means that we are better readers. If you can, ask your child what they wrote on their link and please find a way to support them in reaching their goal. We are all in this together.
Grant from Meemic
Meemic, an insurance company just for educators, has a grant program to support schools. If you have the time and care to do so, here is a link for a chance at a $500 grant for supplies for our schools.
Thanks for your consideration.
