Covid - 19 Update
Friday 20 August
Dear Whanau/Parents
The Government has decided that Lockdown at Level 4 will continue until Tuesday 24th August, and at that time a decision will be made whether the Lockdown will continue beyond this time.
We are therefore going to activate our Home Learning Programme from Monday morning for our students.
You will find the link to all the information you need for our Home Learning Programme here:
https://sites.google.com/stmarysrotorua.school.nz/stmarysrotorualearningfromhome/home
Note: If you are viewing this on your phone you might need to go to the 3 bars on the top left of the site to access the tabs outlined below. The first tab on the home page explains where you can access help with Home Learning, if needed. At the bottom of the Home Page we have included our protocols for Home Learning.
When you press the second tab you will see links to the Class Blogs (all year groups) and Team Learning Sites (Y3-6) Press the link to your child’s class blog where, by Monday morning, you will be able to see an outline of the work for the students. ALL Class Teachers will outline their learning programme via the Class Blog. Following feedback from our last lockdown, we will schedule any online meetings with students throughout the morning.
The times will be:
9am Year 5 and 6 Meetings
10am Year 3 and 4 Meetings
Year 1 and 2 parents- please check the Class Blogs for details re how to book a time for a Google Meet or Zoom online meeting.
The third tab contains other learning resources that are available for you to use with your child.
We sent out an alert notification, via the School App earlier today, asking if you need a device to please complete this form. Mrs Cato will be in touch to arrange for collection/delivery of devices once we have them ready. Some families have had devices delivered already this afternoon.
Your child’s teacher will be in touch with you via email and they will be asking you to reply to acknowledge that you have received the email. Please respond to their email so we know that you have read it.
All the best to you and your whanau in these unusual lockdown times. As with last time - we’ll get through this together.
