Course Selection for 2021-2022
Course selection for current Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen is going on throughout the month of February. Hybrid students were/will be given information in their English classes. Distance learners may go to the counseling office webpage to access materials. Each grade level has a PowerPoint slide show with voice over information. To access this PowerPoint please go to the Spanish Springs High School webpage at https://www.washoeschools.net/spanishspringshs. Click on academics, and then click on Counselor's website. Next click on the heading that says COURSE SELECTION FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR. Each grade (junior, sophomore, freshman) has their own voice over PowerPoint with pertinent information for their grade. Please click the x and download the PowerPoint with voiceover. Within the PowerPoint are instructions on how to submit a Microsoft Form and pick classes. Please reach out to your child's counselor if you have any questions.

Distance Learner Technology Support Line
The District is excited to make available a new resource for our students and their families to continue supporting learning.
Thanks to grant funding the District is able to provide a dedicated phone line to obtain technical support for students and families.
The Family Tech Support phone line is a free service for all WCSD families seeking technical support for their students’ learning. The Tech Support line will have staff ready to support families Monday through Friday with both early morning and evening hours, including bilingual support available.
Families and students can call 775-789-3426 for questions about accessing learning applications and help with technical challenges with their computers. Save this phone number and call whenever you need assistance using any WCSD application or online program.

Parent Drop Off Procedure
Parents and Guardians: As we continue to improve our safety protocols at SSHS, we ask for your help when dropping off your students. The parent drop-off location is not located at the Main Entrance roundabout. We ask that you follow the signs toward the Parent Drop-off Zone on the north side of the building, near the cafeteria. All drop offs should occur in this roundabout which offers an easy, safe exit to Eagle Canyon Drive. Please do not stop/park at the front entrance of the school to drop off your students between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM. This creates traffic issues and significant safety concerns. Thank you for your help in keeping everyone safe while on campus.

Turn right, don't stop
Turn left at the end of the parking lot
Parent & Guardian Pick Up Procedure
Off Campus/Street Pass:
For students who need to leave campus for an appointment, parents may request an off campus/street pass with a phone call, in person, or by sending a note with the student. The parent/guardian may be asked to provide the reason for the off campus pass. Students will only be released to the parent/guardian and the parent/guardian will be asked to show ID when picking up the student.
Please plan ahead, as it generally takes about 15-20 minutes for the student to be retrieved from their class. When picking up the student, please do not park in a RED ZONE.
