St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 5 | 4 MARCH 2021
Our Father,
who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear St Columba’s school community,
I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend and, despite the wet weather on Monday, managed to get out and about and enjoy time with family.
On Tuesday, I watched our Year 5 and 6 students as they participated in the CAPSS Cricket Carnival. It was wonderful to see all the students representing our school with pride and displaying great sportsmanship throughout the day. Congratulations to both our Boys and Girls team on a successful carnival – who knows maybe some future cricket stars in the making! Thank you to Mr Chatt, Miss Purvis and parents who volunteered their time to assist with this event.
I would like to encourage all parents to pay particular attention to Road Safety during school drop off and pick up. It is essential that the safety of our students forms our decision making during this time. Please do not park along Forrest Street as this causes unnecessary congestion for our families and neighbours. A reminder to encourage students to cross the road near the tennis court gate, although, I am pleased to say that students and families are doing this very well.
Lots of things have happened over at Kindergarten this week as the playground project is nearing completion. Students even managed to enjoy some supervised outdoor play in the new space. Our dedicated Early Years staff have also had a big clean out of the Kindergarten shed with a number of items placed in the skip bin or alongside the bin that are free to any families that may want them – please help yourselves. The skip bin will be removed next week.
I would like to wish the P&F all the best for the Disco on Friday afternoon. I am really looking forward to participating in their first event of the school year. A big thank you to our P&F members, Mrs Pink and Mrs Palermo, who have been busy organising this exciting event for our school community.
God Bless

A special thank you to our superb parent helpers and supporters who attended the event. We certainly could not have had the competition and high level of success without their involvement. We are proud of our student’s efforts, displaying their cricketing abilities and being excellent representatives of their school.
Well done!
