Classroom Rules

Rule #1: Follow directions quickly.

Rule #2: Raise your hand for permission to speak.

Rule #3: Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.

Rule #4: Make smart choices.

Rule #5: Keep your dear teacher happy!

The CHAMPS strategy is part of our school-wide expectations for behavior at Anderson. CHAMPS stands for:

  • C - Conversation
  • H - Help
  • A - Activity
  • M - Movement
  • P - Participation
  • S - Success!

Each time we switch to a new activity or subject in our day, we discuss the expectations for each category of CHAMPS as a class and change the cards on the board accordingly. This helps the students to remember what is expected of them at each point in our day and provides a visual for them, if needed. Our school-wide CHAMPS expectations are also posted in the hallways, restrooms, cafeteria and computer labs.

Weekly Folders

Red conduct folders are sent home every Friday and must be signed by a parent or guardian and returned to school promptly on Monday.

Green homework folders containing a brief assignment as well as current spelling words are sent home every Friday as well. These assignments should be completed and returned in the folder the following Thursday.
