The Lion's Share Newsletter
May 2019
From the Desk of Mr. Miller:
I know it may not seem like sunny, warm weather is upon us, but I would like to remind you that as the temperature goes up, we still require students to dress accordingly! Please be mindful of the dress code that can be found in your student's planner. Please help us by making sure flip flops, or sandals without a heal-strap, are not worn to school. This is purely a safety concern as students love to run and jump outside during recess. We don't want to see any injuries from the small rocks or occasional piece of glass that can be found on the playground. We appreciate your support!
Get ready for our BIGGEST night of the year! Night of 1,000 Stars will take place on Thursday, May 16th! Typically, we have nearly 750 people attend this spectacular night! Dinner will be provided by our PTA free of charge, students will showcase their writing, we will have a local author selling and signing books for families, and there will be some great prizes handed out! Invitations will be sent home soon, so be sure to RSVP!
Are you ready for track day? Our track days are quickly approaching and we hope you are able to come out and cheer on your Lion as they sprint, jump, and play! Track Day for our primary grades (K-2) will take place on Friday, May 10. Our intermediate Track Day (3-5) will occur on Monday, May 13. Our wonderful PTA will be giving each Grant student a special shirt for this popular event!
Finally, I've recognized all of the support we have received from you. I'd now like to thank the Grant staff for a great year and I would like to ask for your help in doing so! Next week (May 6 - May 10) is Teacher Appreciation Week! We have a few things ready to let our teachers know just how great they are. If you feel the urge to do so, I would encourage you to let your student's teacher know what a wonderful job they have done this year!
As always, I appreciate you taking the time to read our newsletter! I hope the year has been a great one for you and your Lion!
Thank you,
Ryan Miller
