Friday Notes

November 19, 2021

We will not publish Friday Notes next week, due to the Thanksgiving recess. We, the faculty and staff of the school, are thankful each and every day for your children and the joy they bring us: we love our BJAMS families! Happy Thanksgiving!

Whole-School Dress Down Days

Staff and students may enjoy not one, but TWO dress down days on Monday and Tuesday of next week. While we are thankful for school uniforms, we are also thankful for a break once in awhile!

Substitue Plea

Do you love kids, the energy of a bustling school, and laughing and smiling all day long? If you answered yes to those questions, have we got a great gig for you! We are in desperate need of substitute teachers! Please reach out to Mrs. Wilson or Mrs. Nordenson if you're interested in learning more. We hope to hear from you!

Midterms and Final Exams Update

After much consideration and discussion, the upper school will not administer midterm and final exams this academic year. Grades 1-8 will still participate in our annual standardized tests in the spring.

Christmas with The Chosen

What better way to put us all in the right mind frame for this Christmas Season than a movie celebrating the birth of our Savior! On December 1 and 2, the Essex Cinema will be showcasing A Christmas Special by The Chosen. Missy Semprebon (Olivia, grade 5) has purchased 10 adult and 10 children tickets to the 7:00 pm showing on Thursday, December 2nd and would love to take a group, if anyone is interested.

Here is some information about the series The Chosen, which has put this special together. It is a free series that is available as an app on all devices. It will be a 8 season series and they have currently released 2 seasons with 8 episodes each. It is an amazing series that has caused Missy to dive deeper into her bible. It makes Jesus and the disciples so real and authentic. The creators are driven to be biblically and historically accurate.

If you are interested please reach out to Missy and she would be so happy to answer any questions or reserve a ticket for you. They were $12.50 for adults and $10.00 for children. Missy is happy to donate them, but if you are interested in reimbursing Missy, she will donate any money received to a local food bank for the holiday season.

Giving Tuesday 2021

What is Giving Tuesday? On the global scale, it's a movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity. On the local level, you can think of it as a way of directing your donation dollars to something - in this case, BJAMS - that hits close to your heart and home.

This year, when you're planning where you would like to direct your charitable contributions, please consider supporting the BJAMS Playground Project.
